A new mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 allows you to quickly change the appearance of all equipment

We all know how important fashion is in RPGs, and Baldur’s Gate 3 is no exception. Larian Studios’ RPG puts as much emphasis on good looks as it does on everything else—that is, a lot. So some dedicated modders have taken it upon themselves to make cosmetic items in BG3 as user-friendly as possible, offering a ton of retextures and transmog options. However, a new mod for Baldur’s Gate 3 may be the easiest and most effective way to keep track of your wardrobe.

Claiming to be one of the best mods for Baldur’s Gate 3, the simple but effective Cosmetic Slots mod from FallenStar will appeal to those who like to keep an eye on the appearance of their characters. It allows you to change selected cosmetic items almost instantly, and even automatically handles the constant changing of armor and weapons that many Baldur’s Gate 3 players are so prone to.

Instead of transforming the appearance of items individually, the Cosmetic Slots mod places a bag in the inventory, which applies the appearance of the armor thrown there to the currently equipped gear. It even works with appearance items, treating them as armor so they are automatically used for the chest piece, and is capable of working with modified items. You can see this in action in the video below.

In addition to quickly changing equipment with instant application of the selected appearance to any new items, the mod also includes special items that allow you to completely hide individual parts of your equipment.

There are a couple of caveats to the current implementation. The creator notes that due to the way the mod works, NPCs and other party members wearing the same items as you also change their appearance.

There are also minor oddities with dual-wielding weapons and cloaks, although at least you have the option to hide the latter. For now, the mod only works for the host in multiplayer, although the developer is investigating the possibility of fixing this.

You can download the mod from here , where there are also installation instructions. You’ll need BG3 Script Extender, but this is a pretty standard modding setup.
