The Russian studio GFA Games has published a new short fragment of the gameplay of the multiplayer survival shooter Pioner.
The developers showed the use of the W-shaped transformer plate to detect dangerous invisible anomalies.
Previously, the authors also demonstrated a teleportation anomaly in the game.
Pioner is an online post-apocalyptic shooter with an emphasis on exploration and survival, the events of which unfold on a Soviet island, which turned out to be isolated from the mainland by a large-scale technological anomaly. In the role of a former operative, players will have to find and rescue their colleagues, as well as collect information about the source of the disaster – the mysterious Burial Ground, a deadly foreign structure in the center of the island.
The authors name the key features of the project as a modern combat system with deep customization of weapons and limb shooting, character progression based on influence levels instead of traditional pumping, a faction system, decision making, and life simulation with the influence of the time of day on the gameplay. The game focuses on PvE with story missions, faction missions, and raids, but will also offer a PvP component with special zones where players can fight against each other.
Pioner is expected to release on PC in 2023.
