Yesterday, a source from the Zone of Games portal, who gained access to a press copy of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, reported that the expansion files contain a package with full Russian localization, but as it turned out, there will still be no voice acting in Russian in the DLC.
This is directly stated in the in-game message, according to which, after the release of the add-on, voice acting in Russian will be available only for dialogues from the basic version of Cyberpunk 2077.
CD Projekt RED warns that during Phantom Freedom the speech language will automatically switch to English and back to Russian when returning to the main story. DLC buyers will be able to be content with only Russian subtitles.
If players want to avoid switching characters’ speech from one language to another, then the developers advise immediately choosing a voice-over language into which the game and the expansion are fully translated. Previously, CD Projekt RED stated that Phantom Liberty would not receive Russian dubbing due to the studio ceasing cooperation with Russian tax residents after February 2022.
There is exactly one week left until the release of Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty. The expansion will be released on September 26 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, and PC.
