Comparison of Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and Skull and Bones shows dramatic differences even after 10 years

Ubisoft has released Skull and Bones on PC and consoles. And apparently, the game was not very positively received by some gamers. Moreover, in a number of ways, Skull and Bones turned out to be worse than Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.

A video comparing these two pirated games was released on the Gameinvader YouTube channel. The results may be surprising.

Boarding in Skull and Bones looks bad and is shown only as a cutscene instead of a full-fledged capture of an enemy ship. This is a massive downgrade from Black Flag.

Moreover, if in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag the player could swim, then in Skull and Bones there is no such opportunity. However, in Skull and Bones you can only leave the ship at the port. Another downgrade from what we saw in Black Flag, where free movement was available.

Since Skull and Bones is a service game, the developers focused on other elements. As a result, it’s easy to notice that the quality of lip animation during dialogue is much worse than it was 10 years ago in Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag.

In terms of graphics, Skull and Bones looks better – but that’s to be expected given the difference over so many years.

The main problem with Skull and Bones is that the developers took elements from Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag, made them worse and decided to exploit players through the service’s approach. It turns out that this is another Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. It would be better to follow the example of Helldivers 2, but it’s too late to rush around.
