Cooking application that leads to local and seasonal consumption: Kuri

According to the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) report, climate change is now coming to the fore as a code red issue for humanity, that is, an issue that needs urgent action. Climate change is causing a decline in food production. This is thought to limit people’s access to food around the world.
Around the world, 25,000 people die of hunger every day. Waste or waste of food is considered one of the most important causes of hunger. In recent years, developed countries have taken advantage of the opportunities offered by technology to reduce food waste and waste.
Intelligent refrigerators, ovens and other technological products play an important role in reducing food waste, especially in the field, which has become an important issue on a global scale due to the Covid-19 pandemic .
Cooking app Kuri is one of them. It was founded by three entrepreneurs Alecsandru Gabriel Dinu, Romane Maire and Baptiste Malaguti. The app aims to help people cook in season. It directs them to consume locally and in season. Thus, food waste is reduced. It reduces the carbon footprint of the users with its climate-friendly recipe recipes. The US-based startup claims that its carbon footprint has been reduced by 60 percent thanks to this application.
Launched in 2020, the application directs users to consume fruits and vegetables locally and in season. This provides an economic advantage. There are more than 700 recipe recipes in the application. 80 percent of personalized recipe recipes consist of vegan or vegetarian options.
There are companies operating in this field in Turkey as well. Last November, we introduced the local cooking app, Cook . The application aims to save time by bringing only the materials that people really need, washed and chopped ready to cook, to their door, and to be able to prepare dishes that they are familiar with and that they have been afraid to try before, effortlessly.
