Daisy Ridley wasn’t offered many new roles after Star Wars

Daisy Ridley, best known for her role as Rey in the Star Wars trilogy, spoke about her career following the completion of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. At the SXSW panel, the actress admitted that after the release of the last part of the trilogy in 2019, there were not as many job offers as she expected.

This does not mean that there were none at all, but I remember finishing filming and thinking: “It’s somehow quiet and strange.”

Of course, the situation was aggravated by the COVID-19 pandemic that broke out in 2020, due to which job offers for actors became very rare.

However, in recent years, Daisy’s career has taken off. True, without anything particularly standout.

It was very intense and amazing, I was able to work on a variety of projects with different people. This became a new stage for me in exploring myself and my career.

Ridley will return to the Star Wars universe in a new film set after the events of The Rise of Skywalker. Plot details are still kept secret, but the actress hinted that new characters will appear in the film.

I know some details. I know that new heroes will be introduced. I can’t say anything about already familiar characters.

The next premiere in the Star Wars universe will be the Acolyte series, which is rumored to be released on June 5th. For the first time, it will bring to the screens the era of the Rise of the Republic and, as stated, will be dedicated to the Sith. This year will also see the premiere of the series Skeleton Crew starring Jude Law and the second season of Tales of the Jedi, while the third season of The Bad Batch continues to air on Disney Plus.
