DC Universe Online developers hit layoffs

The publication Kotaku reported that the developers and publishers of the online DC Universe Online were cut. People were laid off from Daybreak Games and Dimensional Ink on February 9, but the exact number of layoffs is unknown.

Judging by publications on LinkedIn, executives were also laid off. For example, DC Universe Online art producer Andy D was fired. Game Developer adds that art department employees, community managers, and scriptwriters were fired.

At the beginning of 2024, Daybreak Games was going to release a version of DC Universe Online for the current generation of consoles. It is unknown whether the plan remains in force.

Kotaku is running a special article in which it calculates the number of layoffs in the gaming industry for 2024. As of February 9, the companies laid off more than 6,400 employees.
