Here comes the lifeguard drones in the world of rescues at sea. In Spain, such a drone saved the life of a 14-year-old.
The arrival of lifeguard drones for rescues at sea has been positively proven in Spain. A 14-year-old was rescued by a lifeguard drone, as he was in danger of drowning due to the current of a tide in front of the beach of Valencia. The drone, which came close to the boy, activated its “lifeguard” function by throwing him a life jacket.
A godsend can be said, because the flight of the drone arrived right from the sky allowed him to save his life. The life jacket allowed him to stay afloat until help arrived on the jet skis. Fortunately, after a short hospitalization, the boy was sent home in good condition.
Thirty General Drones drones in Spain patrol 22 beaches, helping lifeguards since 2017. The number of people at risk of drowning is more and more, which is why their role is essential. In Italy, drones are used for the safety of sea beaches and also of lake areas.
The incident happened in Spain and more precisely off a beach in Valencia, where the 14 year old who swam in the sea found himself at the mercy of the waves. The rescue service promptly activated the support of the drone, which immediately reached the very young bather by now exhausted, bringing him a life jacket just in time to prevent him from drowning. In this way the boy gained precious seconds that allowed a lifeguard to physically reach him and then tow him safely to shore. Transported to the local hospital, he was sent home 24 hours later.
