Glen Scofield: Problem starting The Callisto Protocol on PC is a “fucking mistake” made by someone in a hurry

The Callisto Protocol has not had the best launch ever. Due to serious problems with stutters on the PC on the day of release, the horror literally drowned in negative reviews from Steam users, however, the developers quickly eliminated most of the problems with slowdowns.

Now the game director of the project and the head of Striking Distance Studios Glen Scofield explained why the computer version of the game went on sale in such a deplorable technical condition.

Commenting on the words of one of the Twitter users that The Callisto Protocol is “unoptimized junk”, Scofield stated that the stutters appeared as a result of updating the wrong file, and he calls the whole situation a “fucking mistake” made by someone from the studio in rush before release.

User: “Unfortunately, this is unoptimized junk. It slows down every few seconds even on powerful computers.”

Scofield: “Working on a fix. Wrong file was patched. [Update could come out] any minute. It’s just a fucking mistake someone made in a hurry.”

In response to another player, the developer said that he himself was not happy with all this, apologized and assured that the studio would never have released the game in this form on purpose. According to him, The Callisto Protocol is Krafton ‘s first console title , so the team, like a startup, has to do everything on its own .

“Guys, we would never release [the game] in this form on purpose. Believe me, I myself am not happy with all this. The fix is already ready. Notifications [for download] will be sent out very soon. Unfortunately, this happens on launch day. This is Krafton’s first console game, so we do pretty much everything ourselves as a startup, I apologize.”

After the release of the update, the user rating of The Callisto Protocol on Steam continues to grow and already stands at 55% . At the start, on December 2, this figure was two times lower.
