Axios reported that Google began to actively cooperate with major publishers, helping them with cloud technologies. Developers are offered a Google Cloud package that includes a mix of new and existing services.
These services include managing cloud storage data, creating game server platforms, and collecting analytics. According to Google, its package is designed to help publishers and developers more conveniently develop service games, which can be very profitable, but at the same time suffer from unique technical problems.
Currently, among the partners of the giants are Square Enix, 2K, SEGA, Ubisoft, Nintendo, Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, Embracer Group, and Niantic. In addition, the Google Cloud team has partnered with companies such as NVIDIA, Unity, and Unreal Engine.
Google presents its Google Cloud services as a direct competitor to the cloud services of other companies like Amazon and Microsoft.
This decision came less than two months after Stadia shut down.
Having abandoned its cloud system, Google plans to actively use its cloud-based developments in the gaming field, selling them to third parties and providing third-party developers with technical support.
