The combined service of HBO Max and Discovery+ will launch first in the US in summer 2023, Latin America later that year, and early 2024 in European markets where HBO Max is now available. It is estimated that the service in question will be launched in more than 70 countries by 2025. However, this plan does not include major key markets including the UK, Germany and Italy. The new combined service is expected to reach 130 million subscribers by 2025.

The new plan will be available in both ad and ad-free versions, similar to HBO Max’s current plans. Alongside this, the executives also revealed that they are working on a plan to launch another new streaming service that is completely free. Details on how the free service will be are not yet fully available. However, it is possible to say that it will be ad-supported.

After the merger of the two services, HBO Max’s Turkey plans will be a matter of curiosity. We will share with you the development on the subject.

In the past months, Discovery and AT&T have finalized the WarnerMedia-Discovery merger; Warner Bros. The two companies, which met under the name Discovery, started to be traded on the Nasdaq with the code “WBD”. The agreement was in return for $40.4 billion in cash and some debts.
