Media: Marvel fired the creator of the animated series “X-Men ’97”

The Hollywood Reporter found out that Marvel Studios suddenly fired X-Men ’97 creator Beau DeMaio just a week before the premiere. The showrunner’s corporate email was disabled, and the team was told that DeMaio was no longer involved with the project.

Marvel and DeMaio’s representatives have not commented on the incident. According to THR, DeMaio, who also worked on the script for Moon Knight, had already written the second season of X-Men ’97 and was in discussions for a third.

Before his dismissal, DeMaio was going to attend the premiere of the animated series in Hollywood and talk to the press.

The animated series “X-Men ’97” will be released on March 20 on Disney+ streaming. This is a direct continuation of the show that ran from 1992 to 1997.
