Media: Sony considered closing the developers of Dreams and LittleBigPlanet

Kotaku reporter Ethan Gach said , citing his own source, that Sony was considering closing Media Molecule (Dreams, Tearaway, LittleBigPlanet). The journalist writes that Media Molecule and London Studio were closest to closure.

The latter, as we already know , was indeed closed. The British team, known for VR titles, ceased to exist as part of massive layoffs within the PlayStation division.

In the fall of 2023, Media Molecule cut 15-20% of its employees out of a total workforce of 135 people. Before this, Mark Healy, co-founder and creative director of the studio, left the company.

In April 2023, Media Molecule announced that it would cease supporting Dreams in order to develop a new game. What kind of project this is is unknown.
