

Jason Schreier, who spoke with Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty development lead Gabriel Amatangelo, said that he will also lead production on the sequel. CD Projekt previously stated that pre-production on the title would begin in 2024.
In the same conversation, Amatangelo confirmed that the Cyberpunk 2077 sequel will be developed on the Unreal Engine, but we have known this for a long time. The Phantom Liberty expansion will be CD Projekt RED’s last project on the REDengine engine.
The sequel will be developed by CD Projekt RED’s new office in Boston. The team will consist of both newcomers and key developers of the original Cyberpunk 2077. Studios in Vancouver and Warsaw will help with production.
Gabriel Amatangelo has become the Game Director of Cyberpunk 2077 in 2021. Before that, he was the creative director of the title, and before joining the Polish company, he had a hand in add-ons for Dragon Age: Inquisition and Star Wars: The Old Republic.
