Players pointed out a problem with the trophy system and asked Sony to fix it on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5

A petition has surfaced online calling for Sony to change its approach to supporting the trophy system on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 consoles. A group of enterprising players is calling on the company to stop tying platinum prizes to online achievements.

Users noted that today on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 there are a lot of games where you need to complete certain tasks online to unlock the platinum trophy.

Under normal circumstances, this is hardly a big problem. However, over time, even within the same console generation, many games lose developer support for various reasons or simply lose their audience, and on empty or idle servers, platinum becomes an unattainable goal.

Users have also expressed disappointment that online-based trophies often appear in story-driven games. These moments make them pay for a PlayStation Plus subscription, even if they don’t need multiplayer and other bonuses at all.

Players note that in multiplayer titles like Call of Duty or Battlefield with online trophies everything is clear, but in games like The Last of Us Remastered this can be perceived as a significant minus.

So far , about 3,000 people have signed the petition.
