Reuters: Nintendo Switch 2 will use a custom chip from NVIDIA

Nintendo’s next console will reportedly feature a custom NVIDIA chip. This is reported by Reuters, which claims, citing a source aware of the plans of the “green” company, that the Japanese console giant is again using the solution from NVIDIA as the basis for its new console.

It was previously speculated that Nintendo would use an off-the-shelf chip for its next console, however, if the Reuters report is correct, this is not the case.

According to VGC, “Switch 2” dekkits have been in the possession of key Nintendo partner studios for a long time, and the device is expected to launch in late 2024.

According to the latest rumors, the announcement of the console could take place from March 1 to March 18, and the upcoming Nintendo Direct presentation in February will be dedicated only to third-party games.
