Sales of VR glasses in Russia increased 12 times

Representatives of Megamarket in their study said that at the beginning of 2024, sales of helmets and virtual reality glasses increased 12 times. The marketplace associates this with the launch of the Apple Vision Pro mixed reality headset.

This year, the demand for VR devices has increased by 320% compared to the beginning of 2023. In addition, users became interested in more expensive and functional models – the average bill increased by 30% and amounted to 29,878 rubles.

We can assume that such a rapid increase in interest in VR glasses and helmets is largely due to the release of new products from Apple to the market. Their advertising campaign creates interest in technology among a wide audience. People are discovering new possibilities and seeking out new technological experiences.

The top regions in terms of sales of VR gadgets included Moscow and the Moscow region, St. Petersburg, Sverdlovsk region, Krasnodar region, Nizhny Novgorod region and the Republic of Tatarstan. The most popular devices at the beginning of the year were Meta* Quest 2, 3 (45,000 rubles), Sony PlayStation VR2 (80,000 rubles) and Pico 4 (60,000 rubles).
