Study: Destiny 2 The Final Shape is still being pre-ordered significantly weaker than Lightfall

The Game Post portal , using the Charlemagne bot, published a study in which it assessed pre-orders for The Final Shape expansion for Destiny 2 . The bot scans about 66 million Bungie accounts that received the emblem for pre-ordering.

The Game Post resource emphasizes that the data is unlikely to be 100% correct. For example, the Charlemagne bot cannot track Bungie accounts set to private. These are estimated to be about 0.15% of the total player base.

The Game Post also notes that emblem attachment figures for all four expansions continue to grow even now.

Based on the statistics obtained, the most pre-ordered expansion was Beyond Light. Next is The Witch Queen, and The Final Shape hasn’t even reached 500 thousand yet. However, there is still a lot of time before the release.

  • Beyond Light – 3,189,075 pre-orders

  • The Witch Queen – 2,244,640 pre-orders

  • Lightfall – 2,249,679 pre-orders

  • The Final Shape – 407,601 pre-orders

Apparently, after Lightfall, Destiny 2 fans are skeptical about the upcoming major expansion. The previous DLC, despite strong sales and player engagement, was criticized for its weak story and controversial mechanics.

Destiny 2 is available on PC and consoles of both generations. The major expansion, The Final Shape, will release on June 4, 2024.
