Suspects of leaking unpublished manga have been arrested in Japan for the second time in a month

Japanese media reported the arrest of two suspects in a major leak of unpublished manga. We are talking about a pair of foreigners who allegedly photographed and then distributed several issues of the weekly publication Weekly Shonen Magazine.

The piquancy of the situation lies in the fact that these same people were already arrested in early February on the same charges.

Police believe several other people are involved. The report states that the leaked manga is translated into English and Arabic and then unofficially distributed online. As for the two suspects, they admit that they took photographs of the manga, but claim that they did not publish the images on the Internet.

Among the works affected by piracy was the most popular manga Blue Lock. By November 2023, it had sold 30 million copies, becoming one of the best-selling in its genre.
