Last week, fellow Ikinagara posted the first part of a collection of anime that just want a sequel but probably never gets one. One cannot say this with complete certainty, but the authors of most of the titles we have collected somehow suspiciously persistently do not want to talk about sequels. There is even a feeling that this is all some Illuminati conspiracy, but we do not believe in this and do not advise you. In any case, today I want to bring to your attention the second part of a selection of anime adaptations that need to be continued.
No Game No Life/”No game – no life”
The most anticipated participant of all such collections, which we left for later absolutely intentionally. The series has quite a lot of fans, and they are all waiting for the second season, which for some reason has not yet been announced. It would seem that the light novel is selling well, the franchise merch is also selling well, and the series itself and the full-length movie turned out to be highly suitable and have always been popular among viewers, but for some reason, Madhouse and Kadokawa simply decided to forget about the adaptation. It’s sad, but there’s nothing you can do.
Shuumatsu Nani Shitemasuka? Isogashii desu ka? Sukutte moraimasu ka?/”What are you doing during the end of the world? Busy? Will you save us?”
Masters of short names from Japan never cease to amaze, but, thank the Flying Spaghetti Monster, they are not too lazy to give their titles abbreviated names for convenience. In the case of the currently mentioned series, it is SukaSuka. Unfortunately, the first and only season of the adaptation of a story about a planet captured by monsters and an extremely cheerful protagonist surrounded by little girls is in no hurry to get a sequel, and the most interesting thing is hidden outside of what is shown. Yes, all the tears of the viewers of the series have already been shed in the finale, but all the injustice that is happening must be corrected!
Musaigen no Phantom World/”Myriad Colors of the Phantom World”
The same “harem” from the Kyoto Animation studio, the entire season of which is based on exactly one volume of the original light novel. The story in it is nothing special, and the main feature of the adaptation is precisely the high-quality performance from professionals from Kyoto Animation. So why then does this particular title need a sequel? But because the light novel in the second volume turns everything upside down and reveals shocking facts about the world and the characters. Here you can draw some analogy with, say, Little Busters, the first season of which also does not portend trouble, but the second … In general, whoever understands will understand.
Grand Blue/”Endless Blue”
The same series is about alcoholic divers, during which it is simply impossible not to laugh out loud while making it difficult for all your neighbors to live. I think no one will argue with the fact that the series needs a continuation, which can be found in the manga, but I want to see it in animated form on the TV screen.
Hai to Gensou no Grimgar/”Grimgar of Ashes and Illusions”
Fantasy anime from the studio A-1 Pictures, which stood out from many others with its wasteful attitude towards the main characters and unusual art. Also worth noting is the cool music from (K)NoW_NAME, but who will remember it now? In any case, the show only got one season and deserves more.
High School DxD/”Demon High School”
One of those seemingly goofy ecchi harems that hide a pretty good plot. The title will get as many as 4 seasons, but for the fourth, it passed into the hands of another studio, which had to change the visual style, and then it has been radio silent for a long time. Authors, we need a continuation of the story of the Breast Dragon!
Mondaiji-tachi ga Isekai Kara Kuru Sou Desu yo?/”Problem children come from another world?”
An Isekai where everything is decided through games… Are sounds familiar, doesn’t it? Yes, but here the games are much more severe and dangerous, and it’s better to call them duels or even full-fledged wars. The story was interrupted at an interesting point, and nothing has been heard about the continuation so far. Yes, you can plunge headlong into the original light novel, but this is the path for the weak, the strong are waiting.
Killing Bites
A battle royale with beastmen, the main character of which is a honey badger girl? Give me two! That is why we need a sequel, which the authors teased in the finale of the first and only season, but never showed us. Greedy, what to say?
Hyouka
Another series by Kyoto Animation that needs a sequel. After all, everyone is wondering what will eventually become of the relationship between the main character and Watashi kininarimas Chitanda. Of course, everyone, but the greedy people from Kyoto Animation still do not announce the adaptation of the light novel finale. Unacceptable!
Keijo/”Keijo”
The best sport ever dreamed up by the sick mind of one Japanese once received a 12-episode anime that had everything a true man of culture could wish for. However, the authors did not say anything about the continuation, and at some point, the mangaka forgot how to draw the loins of the heroines, which is depressing. The manga, by the way, was closed along with this, and we were left waiting for at least some news about the continuation of the adaptation.
Maouyuu Maou Yuusha/”A hero in front of a sworn enemy”
Do you still remember that fantasy where the hero got together with an extremely cute demon lord and still couldn’t kiss her because of a bunch of distractions? If you don’t remember, then I recommend watching it, and if you do, then I suggest that you grieve with me about the absence of such a necessary continuation.
Wotaku ni Koi wa Muzukashii/”Love is difficult for otaku”
That same romantic comedy about adult uncles and aunts who enter into a very awkward relationship due to their lack of experience. Yes, every second work of the otome genre fits the description, but that’s the beauty of it because Wotakoi has nothing to do with this genre. I strongly recommend to everyone who has not watched it, and to everyone who has watched it, I strongly recommend that you go and rewatch it.
That’s all for now
Our list of worthy anime without sequels is still not even close to the end, and therefore this article can still get a sequel if you have the desire to see one. The funny thing is that this list is still being replenished … In any case, I take my leave for this, and I wish you not to be ill, not to be beeches, and to watch only good anime.
