Last night, Xbox held a small Developer Direct, where Arkane Austin and Bethesda Softworks held a detailed gameplay demo of Redfall. The developers of Dishonored, Prey, and Deathloop showed the main aspects of the future shooter under their comments and named the release date.
The beginning of the video tells about the world of the game and the four main characters with unique skills. They must fight vampires on the territory of the island city of Redfall. The world in the shooter includes different locations – a suburb, a lighthouse, a forest, a bay, lower areas, and more. All regions are filled with enemies, but there are also shelters where you can rest and replenish supplies.
Further in the video, battles, and missions are shown. Among the vampires, there are different types of enemies with their characteristics. Some can explode, others can fly, and others have increased physical strength. To eliminate bloodsuckers, you can use a hefty arsenal of weapons – shotguns, machine guns, double-barreled guns, pistols, and more.
Before the start of the battle, users are free to covertly destroy several enemies. Silenced guns are used for this, as shown at the moment with the release of the hostages. But judging by the gameplay, full-fledged stealth is not provided.
At the end of the demo, Arkane Austin said that Redfall will be released on May 2 on PC, Xbox Series X, and Series S. The developers have opened pre-orders for two editions – the standard edition for 1399 hryvnia and the Bite Back Edition for 1999 hryvnia. The latter includes Battle Passes for two upcoming Heroes, a gear set, weapon skins, and costumes.
Redfall – Key Details
- The game will have to deal with vampires that appeared as a result of scientific experiments. They caused a solar eclipse and dried up the water around the island of Redfall.
- Gameplay in Redfall includes gunfights, exploring the area, and collecting the best gear. Equipment in the game is divided into quality levels – from ordinary to legendary.
- You can play the shooter both alone and in co-op. The developers claim that the project will have a lot of branded Arkane elements.
- Redfall will be released in 2023 on PC, Xbox Series X, and Series S. The game was planned to be released this summer, but decided to be postponed along with Starfield.
