The Mandalorian and Grogu will be released in 2026

Disney CEO Bob Iger said that Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian and Grogu, announced in January of this year, will open worldwide in 2026. According to the company boss, the film will launch new Star Wars films.

There is no exact premiere date yet, but Lucasfilm has two free slots in 2026 – May 22 and December 18. Both were released just for Star Wars projects. Filming on The Mandalorian and Grogu will start before the end of 2024.

In addition to The Mandalorian and Grogu, three more Star Wars films are in the works, as well as a second season of Ahsoka.
