On September 28, the original Gothic will be released on Nintendo Switch. In anticipation of this, a video appeared online showing a comparison of the re-release with the PC version of the game.
On PC, the project ran at the highest possible settings in 4K resolution, while the Switch version is a port of a 22-year-old game.
However, there are still some changes in the console version. At a minimum, you’ll notice a higher draw distance and slightly different color scheme, and the camera is now closer to the character during dialogue. Otherwise, this is the same “Gothic” as many years ago.
If such a re-release is not enough for you, then a full-fledged remake of the first Gothic for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S is currently in development .
