The release of the game based on the film “Paranormal Activity” is scheduled for 2026

One of the most successful horror film franchises of the last 20 years is about to get a live-action adaptation. Paramount Game Studios has teamed up with publisher DreadXP and solo developer Brian Clark (DarkStone Digital) to create Paranormal Activity: Found Footage . The game is scheduled to be released on multiple platforms in 2026.

Paranormal Activity: Found Footage will expand the universe created in a series of 7 films, the first of which was released in 2007. This will be the first non-VR game based on Paranormal Activity.

As the name suggests, the game uses the “found footage” format popular in movies. While there are few other details, it is known that the game will use an advanced system of dynamically changing “spirits”, which will change the intensity and types of scares depending on the player’s actions. Something similar has already been used in games like Don’t Scream, so it will be interesting to see exactly how Clark implements this mechanic.

Brian Clark previously released the critically acclaimed first-person horror game The Mortuary Assistant.
