New iPads with USB-C and updated Apple TV set-top box – latest Apple announcements

On the evening of October 18, Apple made several announcements that various media have been predicting for a long time. For example, an updated iPad Pro with the M2 chip was introduced, as well as a new version of the regular iPad without the Home button.

The updated iPad Pro with M2 has not changed in appearance, and the rest of the characteristics also remain the same. By the way, there are still two models – 11 and 12.9 inches.

  • Display 2388×1668 in 11 inch model and 2732×2048 in 12.9 inch, IPS

  • M2 chip octa-core

  • 8/16 GB RAM, 128-512 GB or 1/2 TB storage

  • Main camera 12 MP + 10 MP wide-angle and 12 MP front

  • 28.65 Wh battery or 40.88 Wh in the older model

  • iPadOS 16.1, Wi-Fi 6E, 5G/LTE, SIM and eSIM, USB-C

Prices range from $799 to $1299 depending on the model and type of connection (Wi-Fi or mobile).


New iPad:

  • 10.9 inch screen, 2360×1640

  • A14 Bionic Processor and Neural Engine for AI

  • Memory 64 or 256 GB

  • 12 MP camera and 12 MP front ultra-wide angle (122 degrees)

  • Touch ID button is now at the top

  • iPadOS 16.1, Wi-Fi 6, 5G/LTE, SIM and eSIM, USB-C

Prices range from $449 to $599 depending on the model.


Updated version of the Apple TV set-top box:

  • A15 Bionic chip, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision

  • Dolby Digital 5.1 and 7.1 surround sound

  • Siri Remote can now be charged via USB-C

  • Pricing – $129 for Wi-Fi and 64GB storage / $149 for Wi-Fi, Ethernet and 128GB storage

Apple also announced that iPadOS 16.1 will be available on October 24th. macOS Ventura will be released on the same day.
