Twitch viewership increased 6% in January to 1.9 billion hours thanks to Palworld

Analysts from StreamElements and Rainmaker.gg have revealed viewing statistics for the Twitch platform for January 2024. The total number of views over the past month increased by 6%, to 1.9 billion hours – this is the largest figure since the second quarter of 2023.

Twitch saw 61.4 million hours of daily viewing in January. This is 3.7 million hours more than in December 2023. This is also a record figure over the past few months.

In many ways, the January growth in Twitch views was due to esports tournaments League of Legends, Valorant, Counter-Strike and Dota 2, as well as the release of the super-popular Palworld.

The most popular Twitch categories for January:

  1. Just Chatting – 271 million hours

  2. GTA V – 179 million

  4. Escape from Tarkov – 82 million

  5. Fortnite – 66 million

  6. Palworld – 59 million

  7. Valorant – 57 million

  8. Counter-Strike – 51 million

  9. Minecraft – 45 million

  10. Dota 2 – 43 million
