Ubisoft released Skull and Bones – production lasted 11 years

Skull and Bones went on sale on February 16th. The pirate action is available to PS5Xbox Series X|S, and PC users. The development was carried out by Ubisoft studio in Singapore, production lasted 11 years. The team began working on the game in 2013 as a multiplayer add-on for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, but the release was later revised to accommodate a separate project.

The concept of the project changed several times. Ultimately, Skull & Bones is a third-person tactical action game set in an open world. The player controls a captain who sets sail across the Indian Ocean in a single-player campaign or joins other participants in PvP battles.

Skull & Bones was first shown at Ubisoft’s press conference during the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2017. Following E3 2017, the game was nominated for “Best Original Game” and “Best Multiplayer Game” at the Game Critics Awards.
