Valve trademarked CS2

Valve has filed a trademark application with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for CS2. In total, on March 14, 2023, the company celebrated four stamps with the Counter-Strike designation. They are clearly related to Counter-Strike 2 and the previously registered Counter-Strike Global Offensive.

The document came to the organization amid rumors about the imminent release of the sequel to the competitive shooter. However, it is impossible to assume with certainty that this will be a new game and not CS: GO on the Source 2 engine.

Prior to this, esports journalist Richard Lewis reported that Valve had almost finished work on the new Counter-Strike. Later, a reference to a test build of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive on the Source 2 engine was found on Steam. According to Lewis, the beta version of the shooter will be released at the end of March or April 1.
