The messaging app can now be used as a reminder app. WhatsApp has a built-in feature that allows you to send messages to yourself. You can now officially use WhatsApp as your note-taking app. At the end of November, the messenger began to implement a feature that allows you to send messages to yourself. At least that’s what it says in the notes for the latest WhatsApp update, in which the app finally officially announces this possibility. Because the rollout has been gradual over several weeks, chances are you’ve been using this feature for a while, perhaps without even noticing it. What is the point of being able to send messages to yourself on WhatsApp? It’s the same as sending documents to yourself as an email attachment and storing them in the “cloud” for easy access at any time. If a messaging app is always on hand, it can turn into a formidable reminder app. After all, if you use WhatsApp on several smartphones at the same time or connect the application to your computer, all your conversations are synchronized. This means you can easily find the notes, photos, screenshots, documents, and links you’ve shared across all your devices. This is especially handy as you can use the search engine that’s built into the details in a conversation to find your notes more easily and see all shared files sorted by type. To use this feature, simply create a new conversation and select your name, which will automatically appear at the top of your contact list.
