Windows 11 will receive the 24H2 update in the fall

Microsoft confirmed in its blog that the company’s major release for 2024 will be a major Windows 11 update called 24H2. This is the same release codenamed Hudson Valley with an emphasis on artificial intelligence.

In other words, Windows 12 is definitely not worth the wait this year. Windows Central reporter Zach Bowden says Microsoft’s move makes sense, as the company clearly doesn’t want to further fragment its user base by introducing what is essentially a third OS to the market.

This means that Windows 11 version 24H2 will be a feature update this year. As mentioned, Windows 11 will have an annual update cycle that comes out in the second half of the calendar year.

Microsoft recently added Copilot to Windows 10 and also announced that it will start charging users for additional security patches.
